BLACK FRIDAY

Well, it's that time of year once again.

You cannot open a newspaper or turn on your big screen TV without being reminded that this week - on Friday the 27th of Nevember - is the biggest shopping day of the year.

In The USA the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (which is this Thursday, the 26th of November) is the day a lot of folks go home and visit family. The kids are back from college. The Aunts and Uncles and brothers and sisters and cousins of all shapes and sizes descend on the homestead.

Wednesday night is the busiest night in bars across the country. There will be more booze sold this Wednesday than on New Years Eve.

Thanksgiving Day - always a Thursday - is for too much Turkey and too much football and for family fights. Like Christmas the original sentiment seems a bit foggy.

Friday - the day after Thanksgiving, now known everywhere as Black Friday - kicks off the spending spree we call Holiday Gift Giving. It will be a regular Gong Show.

Department Stores, On-line retailers, Boutiques - almost all retail outfits will be battling for the consumer dollar.

Automobile manufacturers and the associated dealers are no exception. If you are in the market for a new vehicle this might be a great time to look at a purchase or a lease.

But, be careful.

Don't get me wrong. Getting swept up in all of the Black Friday hype may be OK. If you end up scrambling through the day and fighting for a few bargains at the mall not much damage can be done. Maybe you end up with a few bargains and get some of your gift buying out of the way.

The worst thing that can happen at the mall or the department store is a wee bit of overspending on some inexpensive trivial items.

Automobile shopping is different. A splashy ad campaign and a few bows and a Christmas Carol might persuade a consumer to sign up for payments on a poorly made car that is not the right fit.

When a customer comes to Belleville Nissan we take the time to make sure that the vehicle meets that customers needs. A great deal on a big SUV may not be such a great deal if all you really require is a cost efficient commuter vehicle.

So, take a grain of salt with all these 'specials' you see these days. And, take the time to visit us at Belleville Nissan - 28 Millennium Parkway here in Belleville - just north of the 401. Call me, Dave Johnson, at 613-962-7100.

Don't end up with some CHEAP car. Visit Belleville Nissan and get a GOOD car that fit's your budget and your lifestyle. Quality is worth the extra money. 613-962-7100
