2014 Belleville Nissan Frontier | Kingston | Napanee

It has been quite some time since I purchased my first pick-up truck. It was a 1963 Studebaker with a straight six and three on the tree. Cornering too quickly would result in the passenger door opening and my toolbox scattering contents across the intersection.

Times have changed.

The 2013 Nissan Frontier resembles an old Studebaker in one way only both are (were) considered trucks.

Here at Belleville Nissan you can try one of these trucks out and see for yourself. You may well be surprised at the comfort and civility that a smaller (read fuel efficient) pick-up can offer. The Frontier has more front legroom than any of the competition and can be purchased in a two door (with jump seats) or four door configuration.

I am about 6'5"" and there is more than enough room for me.

There is a 2.5 Liter DOHC (16 Valve) In-Line 4 engine available in the S package or you might want to opt for the 4.0 Liter (24 Valve) V6 which comes standard with the other trim levels. The former has 171 Horsepower and the latter has 261.

With the In-Line 4 you can tow up to 3,500 Pounds and with the V6 you can tow 6,500 in a the 4 X 2 and 6,300 in the 4 X 4. So, lot's of guts and plenty of glory and (how great is this!) every Frontier here at Belleville Nissan has 4 wheel disc brakes as standard equipment. Power is fun safety is king.

Oh, and in case you like paying less for your fuel every week, the Manual Transmission 4 is rated at 33 MPG Highway and the V6, with an Automatic, has been set at 31 MPG.

The 2013 Frontier also has a fully boxed ladder frame to lessen flex. Nissan has also built in the Utili-track storage system a fine feature for those folks who may actually use the bed for more than groceries.

The mid-size truck market has contracted but that does not mean a smart consumer will be left wanting. The Frontier pushes all the right buttons and ticks all the boxes.

Come in to Belleville Nissan and see for yourself. The 2013 Frontier is one darn nice truck.

Why take a look at the fresh new 2014 Altima? Why not!

Style and grace may have been absent from the new car market for some
time but with the introduction of the 2013 Altima, Nissan is signaling that it is high time your vehicle gave you more than just transportation.

After all, life should be more than a simple meander from point A to point B. Life should be lived and, what's more, life should be lived in style. Well folks, welcome to style.

With the Altima you will notice that there is a sweep, subtle but true, that leads your eye from the Halogen headlights and the tasteful grille all the way to the LED taillights and the chrome tipped exhaust. It is a modern turn on the forward look of yesterday, a time before cookie cutter jellybean cars littered the highways.

Compared to the bland alternatives available the Altima looks just plain scrumptious.

But, the Altima, while a definite treat for the eye, is more than just last years prom queen all dolled up in a new party dress. Make no mistake; the 2013 Altima will envelop and flirt and tease and asks for attention. Yes, this girl came to dance.

Power is supplied by either a 2.5 Liter Double Overhead Cam Four or a 24 Valve 3.5 Liter V6. The former boasts 182 horsepower and the latter pushes out 270 horses along with 251 Foot Pounds of Torque. Think Tango not Waltz.

Transferring all that power to the dance floor is Nissan's Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) no gears to get in the way, just smooth as silk belts and pulleys. Cool.

Look for more detail on the interior and some of the high tech goodies the 2014 Altima boasts (standard and/or optional) in another review. For now just take in the beauty and know that underneath that pretty face is a sedan for the ages quick, comfortable and willing to please.

Belleville Nissan Service
| Kingston | Napanee

You might think, after reading a few of my reviews, that the sale of cars and trucks are all that matter over here at Belleville Nissan. While it is important for us to find good homes for all these great Nissan vehicles it is just as important for us to service the car post-sale. If you need a service appointment you have come to the right place.

Our General Manager, Steve Clark has been in the service side of the car business for over 25 years ? he knows his stuff. Wearing two hats ? Service Manager and GM ? comes easy for Steve. You'll figure our pretty quick when you meet him that Steve is a genuine people person. He actually cares.

If you have never been down to the dealership here ? on Millennium Drive in Belleville ? you owe it to yourself to do so. The facility is only a few years old and it still has that new sheen. It is clean and tidy and attractive in the glass and steel way with tons of natural light and bright surfaces.

When you bring your car in for service you will be greeted with a smile and whatever work is required will be performed promptly. There is a shuttle to take you to the mall or wherever and, in unique situations I have seen Steve give up his demonstrator for folks with a specific requirement that the shuttle cannot match.

In the winter you can simple pull up by the drive through and beep your horn ? someone will open the overhead door for you and you can pull in and out of the inclement weather. No hassle ? no cold wet feet.

Once inside there is a lounge with comfortable leather seating and a big screen TV for sports or news or Ellen. The coffee is on and the washrooms are spotless. Sit back and relax with a book or walk across the street and grab a bite to eat. Enjoy.

The other day a gentleman came in with a slight issue. He had had the oil changed on his Altima but he had had it done at a garage up north. WE do recommend that you service your Belleville Nissan here but we also understand that it may not be convenient every time ? no worries. However, in this case, the garage he had the oil changed at forgotten to re-set his oil change warning system. Well, when the gentleman arrived at our store it was lunchtime and all of our technicians were in the employee lounge upstairs.

No problem. I simply asked the techs how to reset the system. Within a minute one of them had put down his lunch and had joined me with the customer at the customers car. He fiddled with the computer system on the dash for a few seconds and that was that ? problem solved.

This is what customer service is all about ? don't leave the problem ? solve it!

If you want a great car with a great warranty and great gas mileage but you also want great service then Belleville Nissan is for you. My name is Dave Johnson and you can count on it.

Come on in and take us for a test drive!

Belleville Nissan Titan Truck Review
| Kingston

Do you want your truck to actually be as tough as it looks? If so, you'll want to take a nice long peek at the Nissan Titan before you purchase anything else. This truck delivers on all fronts.

A truck is like a house it all starts with the foundation and at Belleville Nissan we offer the truck with the best foundation available, the fully boxed ladder frame. The boxed ladder frame increases structural integrity and lessens flex while under load. And, after all, a real truck is going to be under load at times. There are six cross frame members and these are welded right in rather than bolted on.

Once that load is on your rig you need to count on a sturdy tailgate to keep it in place and the Titan has one of the best. The strength is there, of course, and with it comes weight but Nissan was smart enough add a tailgate assist mechanism that makes it easy to open and close. And, by the way, if you ever have a valuable load under a cap and you want to keep it safe the Titan tailgate can actually be locked to keep your precious cargo away from would be ne'er do wells.

When you come in to Belleville Nissan for a test drive on the Titan you will notice a great deal of power. The truck pushes out 317 Horsepower, and that is fine, but with a truck it all comes down to torques; the Titan V8 unleashes 385 foot-pounds and wait for it ? 80% of those torques are available under 1,000 RPM. Low-end torque is what we all want in a workhorse and Titan delivers again.

The Nissan Titan comes with a bed-liner (sprayed in) as standard equipment and also offers the Utili-trac (Trade Marked) storage system. There are also four wheel disc brakes standard and this is a good feature indeed as the Titan is rated to tow anywhere from 6,500 pounds all the way up to 9,500 pounds depending on your model and configuration.

Any serious Truck buyer in or around the Belleville and Quinte area simply must add the Titan to his or her list of candidates. We have a wide selection of models here at Belleville Nissan for you to consider and we look forward to helping you get the job done in comfort and style.

2014 Nissan Frontier Test Drive
| Kingston | Napanee

Driving a different car everyday is fun. It takes a few moments to settle in and get comfy but after that it becomes a bit of a battle of the senses what to concentrate on first if you will.

With some cars I tend to fiddle about with the audio first. With some I check out the information center (often more data than I need). With others I might play with the side mirrors and experiment with various angles.

The Frontier begs attention in another manner the darn thing is just so solid. I try to take it all in. The ker-chunk of the door as it closes, the masculine line of the dash, the resistance on the seat (this will not collapse after mile 200!) it is all there and it is all done well. It is as if the fellow who designed part A actually communicated with the fellow who designed part B.

Brilliant!

For a midsized truck the Frontier is darn near perfect.

I took one home the other night. I fiddled about with various controls and set off. No matter what was going on outside, no matter what tune was on the radio, no matter the traffic nor the scenery I kept thinking back to the overall feel of the truck. Sometimes things just feel right.

I live at the end of a poorly maintained dirt road, maybe 2 miles (3K) in from the pavement. All of the cars we sell here at Belleville Nissan have suspension tough enough for my road ? most new cars do. It is expected. The Frontier has a suspension that is not only tough enough for the workaday world it belongs in it is also soft enough to cradle me as I fly down the corduroy that is my laneway. Now, don't think of soft as mushy soft what I mean is soft as in not being on top of a 1905 Harley Hardtail. A truck needs a stiff suspension if it is ever to be used as an actual truck ? it does not need to be hard on the buttock though.

Anyway, the drive home was comfy and the truck felt great. The looks are fine. Everything about the Frontier says 'truck'. There are no complaints (although I would like to see one without the extra doors). The only disconcerting thing about the Nissan Frontier is the fact that I simply cannot convey the feel off the vehicle. You must drive one.

The Frontier is well worth a good long look. Come in to Belleville Nissan and test drive one today.
