Nissan Note Test Drive
Belleville | Kingston | Trenton
As noted in the last instalment the Versa Note now on sale here at Belleville Nissan has a rating of 59 MPG. This is a Government of Canada rating that assumes 80 K per hour with no wind and no hills. However, as you may have noticed, life has wind and life has hills. What we need is a real life idea as to what kind of economy we can expect with this great new car.
Well, on the Canada Day long weekend I drove my beautiful black Versa Note from my home near Roslin to my friends resort up by Burleigh Falls. On the way I stopped and filled the tank in Tweed.
Most of the trip was highway driving with a few stops thrown in for coffee and such. On the way home I stopped at the same station in Tweed and filled up again just to see how much the trip had cost me.
I was astounded.
My fill up cost me $15.29. Fuel was priced at $1.21.9 per liter. I had driven 257 Kilometres since my last fill up. This means the Versa Note had used 12.54 liters.
12.54 liters for 257 Kilometres works out to about 4.9 liters per 100 Kilometres, or about 55 or 56 MPG (Canadian Gallon).
That is great real life mileage. Please understand, I was only driving at about 90 K per hour and there was not a great deal of traffic. However, I am mightily impressed.
After another week or so of driving I will be able to report on my 'around town' mileage.
My name is Dave Johnson, here at Belleville Nissan, and you can count on it.
